The Graham Center is committed to practices that reduce the impact on the environment. Our efforts promote energy efficiency, waste reduction and increased recycling.
Below are Green Initiatives to advance these goals:
Use of cleaning products recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and have the Environment seal, including bathroom cleaners, all purpose cleaners, glass and window cleaners and carpet cleaners.
Replaced 15 paper towel dispensers with 15 low energy-consuming hand dryers in restrooms. Paper towel use and waste has been drastically reduced, saving trees and space in the landfill.
Purchase paper towels made from 100% recycled paper to stock in restrooms.
Purchase toilet tissue that is made from 100% recycled paper to stock in restrooms.
Use printer paper made from 30% or more recycled paper for the Computer Lab.
Recycle corrugated cardboard boxes from shipments of supplies rather than dispose of them in the trash that is sent to the landfill.
Promote placing used office paper goods and old copies of newspapers and magazines in bins for recycling.
Recycle empty printer ink cartridges on a daily basis.
Encourage all departments within the Graham Center to turn off lighting whenever a room or office is not in use.
Purchase environment-friendly office supplies including but not limited to: liquid paper correction film, staplers, pens, file folders, writing pads, post-its, label dividers, hanging folders, binders, scissors and toner.
